Update on Nannup’s iconic Clock Tower
The Shire of Nannup recently approved plans for the new Nannup Clock Tower on the corner of Warren Rd and Forrest St. The development incorporates a clock tower (to house the world’s largest wooden clock built by master craftsman Kevin Bird), a purpose-built visitors centre as we as a new retail shop. Plans for the design and progress reports are available to view at A Taste of Nannup 16 Warren Rd. Architect Paul Meschiati and associates have achieved a great looking building for a very challenging space and one that will be iconic to Nannup for years to come.
The plans have recently been finalised and next stage of the development can now begin with the owners, Rob Marshall and Heather Walford looking to contract a builder to oversee the construction. It is hoped that the build can start in February.
The new development incorporates two spaces that can be leased. Upstairs there is space for an office and next to the visitor’s centre is a retail shop. It is hoped that tourist-related enterprises will see the opportunity that is so central to the Clock Tower will provide.
Expressions of interest from anyone interested in working with the owners to secure a tenancy or with the Nannup Visitors Centre to set up a tourist venture should make contact asap, ask for more details by phoning Heather on 0428302370
